Pollinator Patch Myths Debunked

Turfgrass is not easier or more cost-effective. Grass has hidden costs including pesticides, herbicides, fossil fuels, and contaminated and increased runoff while providing zero habitat. Planting a pollinator patch may cost slightly more upfront, but pays off quickly due to less need for maintenance and materials.

All plants do NOT offer equally positive impacts. Native Plants provide higher quality nectar in higher abundance than non-native plants.

Pollinator Patches do NOT attract undesirable insects to your space. Native Pollinators are beneficial and necessary insects requiring native habitats like Pollinator Patches. From our gardens to our food supply, we crucially need these pollinators for survival!
